Membership in CIL

The Community for Integrative Learning (CIL) is a volunteer run organization striving to bring integral learning experiences to the community to help connect mind, body and spirit. We attempt to do so by offering low cost and free programs, but we need supporting members to make ends meet.

To that end, you are invited to become a member of the Community for Integrative Learning. This will entitle you to receive a substantial discount on fee events and occasional "privileges" as we are able to offer them--free events for members only, special access to speakers and so forth.

Why should I support this community?

David Whyte. Marcus Borg. Jim Wallis. Ysaye Barnwell. J. Philip Newell. Bishop John Shelby Spong. John Fox. Jeremy Taylor. Jim Hollis. Robert Moss. William Grassie. Stephen Post. Keith Ward.

These are just some of the nationally and internationally known authors, speakers and thinkers that CIL has been able to bring to Wilmington

Local luminaries have included people like Alan Fox, Gene Thompson, Harry Shipman, Dr. Andrew Newberg, Dr. Clifford Smith, Steve and Janet Steinwedel, Yvette Rudnitzky, Parry Norling, Dr. Rob Abel and many, many others.

Our program focus is wide, yet focused on providing integrative learning experiences for the local community--spiritual, mental, physical. We've had poets, mystics, medical doctors, musicians, and progressive thinkers in numerous areas from evangelicals to scientists.

What is this "community", anyway?

We're volunteers. CIL is a group of dedicated local folks who spend countless hours to bring these programs to you. In late 2001/early 2002 a small group of area people formed with the goal of providing these experiences. We were and are sponsored by the Brandywine Pastoral Institute, a local non-profit providing pastoral psychotherapy, counseling, education. See their web page for information on philosophy and mission.

We have no funding or income except two sources--the money from modest program fees charged for our programs and speakers and donations/memberships from people like you. We attempt to bring these programs for as low cost as possible to make them accessible to a wide audience.

What can I do?

Membership dues are a mere $25 per calendar year for individuals and $40 for the whole family.

Sponsoring Membership: You may also join as a Sponsor of CIL by making a tax-deductible contribution of $100 or more.  You will enjoy all benefits of regular membership by joining as a Friend of CIL, plus have access to special events such as small dinners and receptions with some of our notable speakers.
